Band Bio
UK–Italy dream-pop trio mUmbo blend intimate vocals, textured guitars and cinematic rhythm into songs where stillness and movement coexist. Formed in 2021 by Doug MacGowan (guitars, banjo, bass) and Emma Semple (vocals, violin, viola), the band expanded in 2022 with Italian drummer-producer Antonio Dalé.
Their sound drifts between indie-folk, slow-core and atmospheric pop, drawing influence from artists such as Mazzy Star, Goldfrapp, Ry Cooder and Johnny Marr.
mUmbo’s forthcoming EP When It Was Quiet (2025) captures their trans-European home-studio sessions — music built on mood, melody and space.
